The Day She Lost Her Perfect Husband

Episode 1

It's Mia's birthday, and her father Liam is the only one who showed up for it. Chloe is at yoga, dodging his calls, and when she finally picks up she reminds him exactly what she thinks of him: he chased her, he chose to be a house husband, and now he can't even handle his own daughter's birthday. Mia takes it in stride — being with dad is enough.

But Chloe has been busy in another way. Convinced Liam's lab work is a waste of time, she locks his research in a safe. Then Zac, her ex, plants a suggestion: there's a gift for Mia in the safe. Mia goes to look — and the door swings shut behind her.

Episode 2

Mia is trapped, and Liam is on the phone cycling through passwords that all fail. When he finally reaches Chloe, it isn't her voice that answers — it's Zac, who makes his price clear: hand over the research, or the password stays hidden. He says Chloe told him ten years ago that Liam stole his future, and that he's taking it all back.

Chloe gets on the line, but she isn't listening. She's certain Liam is using their daughter as an excuse to rob the safe, and she says so in the cruelest terms. Liam stops arguing and calls emergency rescue instead, promising Mia he'll get her out.

Episode 3

The rescue team can't crack it. The safe has a tamper-proof system, the alloy won't cut, and the cutter burns out. Only the password will open it — and one more wrong entry locks it for thirty days.

Then the numbers turn grim: Mia's oxygen is dropping fast, maybe thirty minutes left. Liam tells the team to stand by and heads for the yoga studio — he has to get the password from Chloe himself. Her reaction to seeing him arrive is not warmth.

Episode 4

Chloe is mid-session at her studio, and she does not appreciate the interruption. She insists her practice is about freedom and self-liberation, and that Liam's mind is the filthy one. Zac is right there beside her, backing her up.

Liam cuts through it: Mia is locked in the safe, and only Chloe's password can save her. Chloe laughs it off — Mia is at her grandparents' house. She accuses him of sabotaging her, then threatens divorce if he doesn't leave. Inside the safe, Mia says it's hot, she can't breathe. The team reports oxygen at twelve percent. This is now fatal territory.

Episode 5

Liam is begging. Chloe is certain it's a performance — some story he cooked up to trick the password out of her, all so he can fund his experiments. She calls it pathetic.

The team's update is worse: Mia's heart rate is crashing. Liam tells Chloe plainly that if she doesn't give him the password now, their daughter dies. She still refuses, and sets a condition she thinks is impossible: bring Mia to her, in front of her, and she'll believe it. Anything less, and he gets nothing.

So Liam asks the only question left — can they bring the safe here? For the first time, doubt flickers across Chloe's face.

Episode 6

Zac goes on the attack, mocking Liam as a man who neglects his wife and can't stand that someone else keeps her company. Liam tells him to shut his mouth. Chloe, watching, decides Liam is lying again.

Liam turns on her: she'll believe Zac, but not her own husband? Fine — the rescue team is bringing the safe, and then she'll see. Zac visibly panics at the thought. He pushes Chloe harder, calling Liam desperate and violent.

Then a scuffle breaks out, and Chloe fusses over Zac instead. Liam asks why she won't believe him. And then the safe arrives, and Mia's name lands like the ground dropping out.

Episode 7

The safe is in the studio. There's no time left, and Liam demands the password. Zac moves first — he tells Chloe this is all staged, that Liam hired actors to scare money out of her.

Chloe seizes on it. Of course it's fake. But the rescue worker produces a badge and says the child is unresponsive, possibly unconscious — open the safe now, or she dies. Chloe still waves it off as an act.

Liam is at the end of his rope. He asks her to just look inside, once. And she agrees, smug, certain she's about to prove him wrong.

Episode 8

Chloe tries the password — and it fails. The emergency autolock engages. The safe is sealed again.

She scrambles, insisting she remembers it now: their first date, July 7, 2018. But Liam says their first date was May 20, 2018. Zac jumps in to defend her. The team confirms the lock. Liam is shaking. Chloe finally asks what she's supposed to do, and says the words that crack her armor: her daughter is only five.

Episode 9

There's one road left — a password reset, if Chloe can answer the security questions. Liam grabs at it.

Zac won't allow it. He insists the whole thing is manipulation, and when a small voice comes through — Mia calling for her mom and dad — he calls it AI-generated. Chloe latches onto that. Her parents have Mia at their hotel. This is staged.

Liam reminds her: today is Mia's birthday, her parents wanted dinner together, and Mia never went to them. The oxygen is gone. He begs her to reset it. She refuses — and reaches for her phone to call her parents and prove him wrong.

Episode 10

Zac tries to talk over the call, spinning the same story — Liam is a pathological liar who staged everything out of jealousy. Chloe tells him to shut up.

She turns on Liam instead, demanding he kneel and apologize to Zac before she'll reset anything. He does it. He kneels. He apologizes. Zac tells her not to push Liam further; she pushes anyway.

Then the countdown hits its last minute. Chloe finally resets the password. The lock releases. Liam pulls Mia out and rushes her to the hospital — and the man who was right all along is the one carrying her.
