Boss, Your Wife Fights Back

Episode 1

Xu Mingyue is a soldier, a mother, and a woman with a target on her back. The Black Eagle organization corners her and demands the research her late husband left behind, threatening Xiaobao and Xiaobei if she refuses. She refuses anyway — she's faster and more precise than they are.

Word reaches her that the research now sits with her former brother-in-law, Fu Linhan, and that Black Eagle is circling him too. She says she'll collect and protect it herself, then promises her kids a proper meal back home. At the table, the children bluntly ask her to find them a father — and somewhere across the city, Fu Linhan tells his assistant Jiang Chen he needs a controllable marriage partner.

Episode 2

The blind date goes sideways before it starts. Xu Mingyue sits down expecting someone else and finds Fu Linhan across the table — her brother-in-law, of all people. She stumbles over what to call him and quietly panics about why he's really there.

He introduces himself as president of Lingtian Group and asks about her work and salary. Her answer is brutally honest: no job, no income, divorced, two kids. He counters that he wants a wife with children and a clean image to steady his position in the group. She insists he's got the wrong woman; his assistant booked the wrong table. Then Qin Kai spots her and starts circling.

Episode 3

Qin Kai wastes no time. Two steaks for four people, he sneers — her new man must be cheap. Xu Mingyue tells him her life is none of his business and to get lost.

He doesn't. He brings up the old days, calling her the school beauty who came home a widowed mother who can't afford dinner, and offers himself as a better option. He name-drops his executive job at Lingtian Group, promising she'd never go hungry again. She repeats, flatly, that he should leave. He decides her coldness is charming and pushes harder — clearly a man who has never once been told no.

Episode 4

Qin Kai keeps swinging, boasting that Lingtian Group is the city's top powerhouse and that as an executive he could crush anyone. He demands she kneel and submit.

Then he sees the man standing there, and the color drains out. Fu Linhan — the president himself. Qin Kai backpedals instantly, begging for a chance, offering to crawl out of sight. Fu Linhan makes it clear what happens to pests.

Once Qin Kai scrambles away, Fu Linhan turns to Xu Mingyue. The children cheer. He tells her he has a marriage proposal to discuss with her — and he isn't asking casually.

Episode 5

Xu Mingyue shuts it down: she isn't the one he wants to marry, and she has no plans to marry at all. Fu Linhan doesn't flinch. He argues that marrying him means the best life available, and that as his wife her children would be heirs of Lingtian Group — and no one would dare humiliate them again.

That lands. Xiaobao and Xiaobei plead with her, saying the other kids call them wild children with no father, and that she doesn't care when they're bullied. Her resolve cracks. She agrees to find them a father — and the kids push for this one, now. Conveniently, Xiaobei has already thought of the paperwork.

Episode 6

It's done — she's registered as married to her brother-in-law. The kids are thrilled to finally have a father. Fu Linhan looks at the two of them and muses that they're cute and oddly resemble him.

Xu Mingyue cuts the moment short: this is a contract marriage, don't read into it. He agrees — he'll stabilize her position in the group, she'll care for Xiaobao and Xiaobei, and nothing more. He offers his assistant to drive her, but she's headed to her sister Xu Fanxing's wedding. That gives him an idea. He orders a generous gift prepared — he'll deliver it personally.

Episode 7

At the wedding, the whispers start immediately. The once-glorious school beauty, now broke with two children in tow — how the mighty have fallen. Xu Fanxing's marriage to a Lingtian Group manager is the triumph of the family, and Xu Mingyue is the embarrassment.

She's told there's no seat for her. She keeps her promise to her mother to look after her sister, and offers a card holding the fortune she scraped together abroad. Xu Fanxing's side sneers at it as a beggar's handout. Meanwhile, Fu Linhan learns his wife's sister works at his company — and orders a vice president's appointment letter prepared.

Episode 8

Xu Fanxing tears into her sister: years gone, and she shows up with a "worthless card" and two wild children, begging at a wedding. Xu Mingyue insists the card holds real money, hard-earned abroad. The guests laugh it off — her sister's husband is a Lingtian Group manager worth tens of millions. Someone sinks lower, suggesting the children are illegitimate and Xu Mingyue's money came from selling herself.

Xu Fanxing declares she's lucky it's her wedding day, takes the gift, and tells her to get out. Xu Mingyue warns her she'll regret this. Xu Fanxing laughs — she's married into wealth now.

Episode 9

The sisters' fight turns raw. Xu Fanxing gloats that she's the phoenix now while Xu Mingyue scrapes for free meals, and speaks bitterly of their mother, who always thought Xu Mingyue was the better one. Xu Mingyue warns her to watch her mouth — the children are not illegitimate.

Asked who their father is, Xu Mingyue freezes. Black Eagle is still hunting her late husband's research; she can't say it out loud. Xu Fanxing reads the silence as proof of something sordid and orders her out, refusing to let "those children" near her wedding. Then a voice cuts through: the president of Lingtian Group has arrived.
