Never Reject a Dragon Princess

Lia was born a princess, but all she really wants is a life of her own. So she chooses love over duty only to be betrayed and rejected by her lover Derek. It's time for Lia to get her revenge and claim her place as the Dragon Princess. But why won't anyone believe her?

Story Guide

Episode 1

Lia was born the dragon princess, heir to the late dragon king, but she wants none of it. She'd rather run barefoot than sit on a throne, so a year ago she enrolled at Ashcliff War College under a false name and fell for Derek, a wing leader her uncle never approved of. Now Marcus, her uncle and second in command, has his riders cut her off at the gates to stop her leaving. Lia insists she's not the princess anymore — she's just Leah, and she's giving it all up for Derek. Marcus warns the man doesn't even know who she really is.

Episode 2

Marcus relents, but only on his terms: he's settled an alliance with wing leader Derek and the Dusk Grind flight, so Leah no longer has to hide who she is. Thrilled, she rushes to tell Derek, lingering at the tree where they first met a year ago. Her plan is for him to announce their union at the Ember Gala and rule the flights together. Then a stranger startles her — a rider who claims to be the strongest since the legendary dragon king. He mistakes her for a paid date, offering gold for one night at the gala.

Episode 3

The stranger, who calls himself Caz, thinks he's hired Leah as his partner for the Ember Gala — apparently to get his family off his back before he takes control of Nightfall. Leah refuses; she already has a date, and she's stunned to realize Nightfall is the very flight Derek has allied with. At the gala, she greets Derek with a gift for their one-year anniversary, an ember bloom blessed with healing power. Then she sees the woman on his arm. Derek doesn't hesitate: this is his new mate, Elise.

Episode 4

Derek coldly cancels his contract with Leah, saying he can't be seen at the Ember Gala with an orphan groundling when Elise is a wing leader's born daughter. He boasts about his alliance with Nightfall, the richest flight in the kingdom, and threatens to have Leah banished. Leah fires back that the alliance only happened because of her — that without her help behind the scenes, he'd still be a nobody. Elise cuts in, and Derek reminds her he's wing leader now. Leah warns they have no idea who she really is.

Episode 5

Cornered and humiliated, Leah drops the mask. She says she hid her identity because she wanted Derek to love her for herself, not for gold and power — but he only ever cared about status. Then she declares the truth: she is the born daughter of the great dragon king, heir to the throne, Ilana, the dragon princess, and she bows to no one. Derek and Elise laugh it off, mocking her looks and calling her a clown. Leah severs the bond, telling them they just lost their last chance at mercy.

Episode 6

Derek twists the knife, telling Leah it doesn't have to end this way — if she kneels and begs, he might keep her as a pet. Elise watches, certain she won't actually do it. Leah doesn't kneel. Instead she says she accepts his rejection, and Derek erupts, furious that she cut him off before he finished. A newcomer steps in and refuses to let Derek dictate anything. Leah tells him they aren't worth the effort, then turns Derek's own words back on him: they're from two different worlds, and any regret is on him.

Episode 7

The stranger stands his ground as Derek sneers at the pair. Leah calls Derek a pathetic excuse for a wing leader — no real leader treats his mate like an entitled child. When Derek demands to know why the outsider cares about a nobody, the stranger answers simply that she is his mate, and warns neither of them is allowed to touch her. Derek threatens banishment and execution, flashing his title as leader of the Dusk Grind flight. The stranger answers with his own: Cassian, wing leader of Nightfall.

When the richest flight in the kingdom backs the girl everyone mocked, you'll want to see what Derek does next — keep watching.
