Story Guide
Episode 1
A thunderhorn beast is tearing through the village, feeding on its lightning, and it's heading straight for Kane and his sister, Isla. He tells her to run out the back while he stands his ground. Everyone says the Thunder Knights themselves couldn't stop a rank three beast—so what chance does a blacksmith have? Kane grabs an old hammer and swings. One blow. The beast drops, and witnesses say he killed the thunderhorn beast with one blow as Lord Thor descended. Now the order goes out: find the man with the hammer. Kane did something impossible, and he already knows he can't let anyone find out how.

Episode 2
A knight brings Kane a spear broken in the thunderbeast attack, and when Kane repairs it, the weapon sparks like never before. He dodges every question about where he was that night, terrified they'll accuse him of dark magic. Then Count Grant's men arrive: the Count is expanding his territory, and Kane has three days to clear out. Kane insists the smithery was his parents' and the deed bears the lord's seal. Captain Roland steps in, citing kingdom law—land owned by a knight is protected by the crown. His offer: enter the Thunder Knight trials, take this badge, and earn the right to keep his home.

Episode 3
At the trials, Kane is mocked before he even starts. He has no house, no tested magic, and a battered hammer everyone calls scrap. Victor and the noble knights sneer that a common blacksmith has no place among them—until Kane produces an official knight's recommendation badge. When Victor taunts him, the hammer moves on its own and Victor hits the ground. Kane insists he never touched him. Captain Roland questions his motive, and Kane answers plainly: it's his sister's home, all they have left, and he promised no one would drive them out again. Roland lets him compete, warning him not to waste the chance.

Episode 4
Round one tests lightning affinity. Candidates place a hand on the stormstone, and the thunderwell reveals their rank. Victor, son of Count Grant, manifests a thunder eagle and scores a rank six—the highest yet—while his father gloats that a commoner will never touch that kind of power. Then it's Kane's turn. The nobles expect nothing. Instead, golden lightning erupts, exactly like the night of the beast attack. Victor's thunder eagle is torn apart. But when the stone records no rank for Kane at all, the room erupts—and someone decides a blacksmith cannot be allowed to outshine Victor.
Episode 5
Chaos follows the golden lightning. Victor's thunder eagle is destroyed, and the nobles scramble to explain it away. The thunderwell malfunctioned, they insist—it was a fluke, no blacksmith could make it react that way. Kane's sister protests that he summoned the lightning himself, but she's dismissed as just some village girl who knows nothing of lightning magic. Count Grant argues that with no recorded rank, the rules demand Kane's elimination. The thunderwell has tested dozens of candidates; a malfunction is hardly impossible. By the rules, Kane failed the first round—and the declaration is about to be made.
Episode 6
Lady Alice steps in, and the room turns on her. The golden lightning appeared during Kane's test, she says—everyone saw it, including her. The stormstone recorded no score, but the thunderwell has never reacted like that before. Maybe it simply couldn't measure what happened. The nobles call it rule-bending for a blacksmith; Alice fires back that if birth decides who becomes a knight, why hold trials at all? Captain Roland weighs the rank zero result against a reaction stronger than anyone else's. Then he rules: Kane passes the first round. Victor is furious—Alice challenged his father in public for a blacksmith.
Kane just survived round one with a hammer no one respects and power no one can measure. Watch what the trials throw at him next—and who else wants him gone.
