Unquestioning Obedience

To save his family farm, Jack joins the army and undergoes training at Moore Base, where he meets the drill sergeant Kane. Fourteen years ago, Kane was rescued by young Jack, and now he uses his position to get close to him. Fellow recruit Bob gets jealous of Jack and teams up with a captain to harm both Jack and Kane. During a blizzard exercise, Jack runs into danger, and Kane risks his life to save him. The two are trapped in a mountain cabin, where they confess their feelings for each other. Later, they expose the perpetrators, and Jack stays at the base, choosing to be with Kane.

Story Guide

Episode 1

Jack joins the army with one goal in mind: earn the bonus, save the farm. At Moore Base, drill sergeant Kane wastes no time making it personal — "You're no longer people, you're just numbers." But there's something else in Kane's eyes. "I've remembered you for 14 years," he says, and it's clear this was all planned. Kane clawed his way out of the mud and turned himself into the man he is today.

When a recruit mocks Jack's camera and damages it, Jack snaps. Kane steps in, refusing to let anyone else discipline his men, then quietly tells Jack he's missed him. Jack has no idea what he's walked into.

Episode 2

Contraband inspection turns into a trap. Jack is singled out — "Well, well, the farm boy actually has some surprises." When Jack pushes back, calling it harassment, he's ordered to strip on the spot, clearly trying to humiliate him.

Kane arrives fast. "My soldiers, only I get to lay a hand on them," he says, blocking the captain. He pulls Jack aside to conduct the inspection himself, and Jack realizes he's dodged public humiliation — but he's now squarely in the middle of a power struggle between Kane and the captain, and Bob is watching every second of it.

Episode 3

Kane warns everyone not to look back — "Anyone who looks back, I'll gouge their eyes out myself" — and the captain backs off, at least for now. Then Kane turns his attention fully on Jack.

He notices Jack's racing heart during the search and tells him not to worry: "Only I get to see you now." The question lands like a test — "Private, have we met before?" Jack says no. Kane doesn't push it, but the order that follows says everything: "Remember, you're my soldier now. You answer only to me, no one else." Jack is being claimed, and he doesn't yet know why.

Episode 4

The captain corners Jack with an offer — a desperate farm boy trying to save his land, and one phone call could make his whole life easier. Jack refuses to hand over his contract, but when the pressure turns physical, he's forced to yield. "You're going to pay for this," he warns.

Training turns brutal. Kane drives the recruits through low crawls and laps, warning he'll break legs himself if they quit. When a sergeant tries to intervene, Kane shuts it down cold. Jack is caught between two men using him as a battleground, and Kane's protectiveness is starting to look a lot like possession.

Episode 5

Jack is rattled, muttering about the drill sergeant straight out of hell — until he hears Kane calling his name. Their paths keep crossing outside the base, near the county road, in moments that feel less and less like coincidence.

Then Kane drops a line that stops Jack cold: "Private, now that you've heard it all." The pieces of that fourteen-year-old memory are surfacing, and a house Jack glimpses only deepens the mystery. Whatever Kane has been planning since he clawed out of the mud, Jack is about to find out how far it reaches — and how much of it was always about him.

Watch it and see how long Jack can keep answering to only one man.
